Third National AAROM Meeting
Akaitcho Territory Government
The Third National AAROM Meeting was hosted by the Akaitcho Territory Government and the Yellowknives Dene First Nation in the community of Dettah, Northwest Territories. The meeting was held September 19 to 21, 2021 at the Chief Drygeese Centre, located in the heart of Dettah, on the shore of Great Slave Lake. <br />
The co-development and hosting of the Fourth National AAROM Meeting
The meeting and its agenda were co-developed by the host organization and the AAROM Network Steering Committee, and was informed by recommendations and action areas from previous national and virtual meetings. These topics include:
- AAROM Hub Website
- Indigenous Knowledge Systems/Traditional Knowledge
- Capacity assessment framework & support (Capacity Development Team) & Indigenous Training & Skills Development (ITSD)
- AAROM Innovation and Collaboration Fund (ICF)
- Developing human resource capacity (tools and resources)
- Youth-Elder knowledge transfer
- Networking and mentoring
- Communication strategy
